Why Indian Head Massage ?
Indian Head Massage is derived from the ancient Ayurvedic healing
system, which teaches self-care and prevention of illness. It can be incorporated into people's daily routine to help maintain the
hair in good condition and stimulate the body's natural
healing ability.
Indian head massage has been developing in Europe since the 1970s. It
was introduced to the UK by Narendra Mehta, who came here to study
physiotherapy. He adapted the traditional technique to target the
specific negative effects that stress has upon our bodies, which
include: muscular tension, headaches, neck and shoulder stiffness and insomnia.
How Is Indian Head Massage given ?
An Indian Head Massage treatment is given while you are seated and there is no need for you to remove any clothing. A variety of massage
techniques are used on the shoulders, upper arms and neck as well as
the head, because these are all areas that may become tense and
painful due, for example, to stress or the postural effects of working
at a desk for long periods. The massage is tailored to whatever you
need - relaxation or revitalization - and a lasting effect can be achieved with a short treatment. Repeated treatments can be even more beneficial.
How can Indian Head Massage be helpful ?
The benefits of Indian Head Massage are: release face, neck
and shoulder muscles which are tense and have gone into spasm, and
especially helps with sinus congestion and headaches, improved
circulation, relief from muscular tension, it may be relaxing or
stimulating, relieves stiffness in the neck and shoulders, improvement
in symptoms such as headaches, insomnia and sinusitis. It leaves clients wonderfully relaxed and either soothed or invigorated, as they
require.
