The brain and spinal chord are bathed in a
fluid, called cerebrospinal fluid, which pulsates. A craniosacral
therapist is trained to sense these pulsations and determine where
restrictions are. These restrictions can cause physical or emotional
symptoms. The body's own strength can be used to release these blockages
guided by the craniosacral therapist. Different pressures on
different areas of the skull bones can cause different problems within
the body such as back pain, joint problems, posture issues,
headaches, emotional issues and hormonal imbalances. The therapy is
truly holistic, recognising that a twisted ankle or knock to the head in
childhood can cause symptoms such as migraines in later life.
Craniosacral therapy can release the patterns which cause physical and emotional problems at source. So after the initial session programme you do not have to keep going back repeatedly for more work on the same problems What happens in a Treatment? ![]() Craniosacral therapy is helpful for many physical problems. It can benefit the following conditions: whiplash, back pain, tennis elbow, sciatica, IBS and digestive problems, migraines and headaches, gout, cerebral palsy, learning difficulties, bone/joint pain, vertigo, sinusitis, jaw problems, menstrual problems, menopausal symptoms and many more. Craniosacral Therapy for Stress and Trauma
![]() Because the therapy is so gentle it can be used on new born babies. It is helpful for symptoms such as colic and can help where babies cry excessively. If a baby has been through caesarean section, suction, or forceps sometimes the skull bones can be affected and a craniosacral therapist can readjust this using extremely light touch. Childhood problems such as Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHS), autism, bed-wetting and asthma often respond well to craniosacral therapy.
