Personal Profile: |
I have always been passionate about fitness and I qualified as an Exercise To Music Instructor with Central London YMCA and the Royal Society of Arts in 1987. Since this time I have been running a variety of classes in health/fitness clubs and privately both in the UK and abroad. My classes include Aerobics, Step, Conditioning, Circuits and Pilates. Having attended an International Fitness Event in Blackpool in 2008, I discovered Modern Pilates and I knew that this method of exercise, with its holistic approach to the body was the way forward for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my training and I am qualified with Modern Pilates in teaching Matwork Pilates (CYQ Level 3). Many people that I meet today have postural problems mainly due to their work and by practicing Pilates on a regular basis, my Clients are amazed at how much better they feel and look! The principles of Pilates include concentration, awareness, alignment (posture), breathing, centring, precision, co-ordination, lengthening and persistence. I feel that Pilates helps the body to heal and the classes can also be relaxing and invigorating at the same time. I believe that anyone can benefit from Pilates from elite athletes to those who are considerably less active. It gives you an enhanced awareness of your body and your posture and when practiced regularly has far reaching effects on both mind and body. |

I offer personal Pilates tuition on a 'one to one' basis, for those who prefer a personalised programme. This can also be offered as 'two to one', if you prefer to exercise with a friend and split the cost, or 'three to one' for a small exclusive group. |
